The 2008 NBA Draft
Drafts are boring. No question about it. Things in this one went according to plan. No surprises. Derrek Rose to Chicago for number one. Michael Beasley to Miami for number two. Things get interesting with number three (not really actually, but it gets better later). The Timberwolves picked O.J. Mayo from USC. This was not a surprise and I (being a fair-weather Timberwolves fan) was pleased with the pick. Then the OMG moment came when the Wolves and Grizzlies made a huge eight-man trade for Kevin Love and some other nobodies. I had UCLA winning the NCAA Championship this year (yeah, that’s right, Memphis!), and therefore I am a big Kevin Love fan. Bringing him to Minnesota is a dream come true for me. Here’s my big and bold prediction: Minnesota Timberwolves (led by Kevin Love and not Kevin Garnett) will win the NBA Title this year. In your face Boston! That’s right, I said it, and you can’t stop me! Also, it was pretty weird that the Knicks picked that Italian guy. Everyone knows Italians can’t play basketball! This is about as good as it gets for NBA Drafts (meaning it was not that good). You didn’t miss much if you didn’t catch it.
